Day

 

After  your arrival at the Paro International Airport you will be greeted by our excutive and transferred to the hotel. After resting for a while, evening will be for leisure.Paro Valley has a long history. A monastery was first built on the site by Padma Sambhava at the beginning of the tenth century, but it was not until 1644 that Ngwang  Namgyal built a larger monastery on the old foundations; for centuries this imposing five-storey building served as an effective defence against numerous invasion attempts by the Tibetians.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

This day we will head to Taktsang Monastery to indulge in some sightseeing tour. This the trek will cover us by 2-3 hours through beautiful villages and pine forests. Soon we will reach the Taktsang Monastery which was built in the 17th century where the saints. Today the monastery has become a popular pilgrimage site of Bhutan and a place to visit once in the lifetime. After we are done with exploring the monastery, we will head back to the hotel.

In the morning we will drive to Drugyel Dzong from where our Chomolhari Trek will begin. Crossing the scenic and peaceful Pachu river through villages we will reach the Camp. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.

This day we will leave for Soi Thangthangkha where the trekking trail will again follow the Pachu river. Reaching the river, we will enjoy our lunch near a wooden bridge. Post breakfast we will head continue with hiking and walking and finally after 7-8 hours we will reach Soi Thangthangkha. We will spend our night in the camp near a stone shelter.

As we rise up in the morning, we will today prepare ourselves for a trek to Jangothang.  Climbing slowly we will reach the army camp. As we keep walking ahead, we will get the opportunity to soothe our eyes with the stunning views of the surrounding areas. Soon we will reach Yak herders camp where we will enjoy our lunch. Post lunch we will continue walking and enjoy the amazing views of the virgin peaks Chomolhari and Jichu Drake. Covering a time frame of 4-5 hours we will reach Jangothang.

Today we will relax and indulge ourselves in exploring the surrounding areas of Jangothang including Tshophu lake or simply make a visit to Yak Herders.

 Day 7 will be trekking expedition to Lingshi. Climb up the ridge and enjoy the stunning views of Chomolhari, Jichu Drake and Tshrim Khang mountains we will head to Lingshi. Meanwhile we will come across an open valley and hike to Nyele La Pass where you will find the breathtaking views of the Soon we will reach Lingshi Dzong perched on top of a hill with commanding view of the valley. From here we will arrive at the camp near the stone shelter for overnight stay.

The day would be a difficult one, we will wake up early in the morning and head to Shodu. We will walk opposite to the Dzong through the valley until we reach Yale la pass which is the highest point of the Chomolhari Trek. Upon reaching the point, you will witness the breathtaking view of Mt. Chomolhari, Jichu Drake and Tshrim Gang. Moving ahead we will soon reach Shodu by covering 7-8 hours.

Today we will head to Barshong following the Thimchupu chu river through rhododendron, juniper and pine forest. Here we will make the most by enjoying the view of the stunning cliff facing rocks and waterfalls. As we proceed further the trail will gradually take you to the ruins of Barshong Dzong.

As today is the last day of Chomolhari Trek, we will head to Dodina by ascending and descending through thick bamboo and pine forests. Meanwhile we will reach Dolemkencho and from here the trekking the trail will descend to Dodina. Upon reaching Dodina you will be greeted by our coach and then drive 1 and half hour to Thimphu. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

In the morning post breakfast, we will leave for sightseeing tour in Thimphu along with visiting the popular tourist attractions. Once done with exploring Thimphu we will drive 2 hours to Paro. Upon reaching Paro we will indulge in exploring the beautiful town of Nepal and visit the popular tourist attractions. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

In the morning, post breakfast you will be escorted to Paro International Airport by our tour excutive  to catch your flight on time for the journey ahead.

Notes:

Permit for Bhutan: Indian nationals do not require any visa for Bhutan. A permit will be issued at the entry point on production of a passport or Voter ID and 04 passport size photographs. 

Restricted Area Permit for Punakha / Wangdue:
Restricted Area Permit is required to visit Punakha / Wangdue from Home Ministry of Bhutan. No charge will be applicable for this permit. Please bring 02 passport size photographs and Voter ID card or Passport of each person including child. This special permit is given only after guest has entered Bhutan. Permits are not issued on Saturday, Sunday & Govt. holidays.
