Itinerary

Day

You will start from the army trail. This will be around 2-3 km till you reach Takh. Takh is a military camp. When you reach, the trail starts deviating as you reach Tsarap river and your usual journey to the base of Morang la will start.

You have to climb to reach the summit. After that, you descend into a muddy valley. After that you reach a beautiful valley known as Zara chu valley. Turn towards your right and you will soon reach a village called as Lun.

Move further till you reach Yabbu. This place has some of the beautiful campsites and also low stone walls. These walls protect them from the sheep and goats of the nomads of Tibet that live here.

You need to follow the same as earlier to reach Lungmoche . This nomad village is spread over a very large and the view is very beautiful.

You have to walk for another 2 hours and you reach the top of Yar la. As you reach there, you get to see a beautiful view of Rupshu and it gets even beautiful as evening approaches. The plateau is easily visible. Reach the water as the next few hours are going to be dry. Further descending, you reach the Dat Chu valley. Turn towards your right to reach Dango and then you reach the village Dat. It has a small Gompa. 

Dat valley is very broad, after passing that, you reach a narrow valley and you reach Sura Chu and form Chang Cho of Khurna, it is tributary of the Zanskar river. Follow the valley and you reach the village of Sura. Walk for another 3-4 hours and you reach Rubering la to Zangla. It is an ancient capital of Zanskar. You climb and then reach Jalung karpo la. And then descend towards Sura.

From Sura, the walk is very easy. Nimalinh plain is very broad in nature, follow it and you will reach Kang Yatse. Nimaling has a lot of tiny ponds and also rivulets. This also helps in providing pastures to the animals throughout the season. You see a lot of white tailed hares and also Himalayan marmots and also blue sheep or Wolf.

A day well spent at Nimaling. You can also walk back to the base of Kang Yatse.

Start your climb towards Kangmaru la. From there, you descend towards the Martselang valley, you also pass Chuskirmo and following.

Terms And Condition:

Breakfast: Porridge, muesli, corn flakes, jam, honey, Nutella, pinut butter, puri, paratha, chapatti, eggs, toast, tea, coffee, hot chocolate.

Cold lunch: pack lunch with boiled potatoes,  boiled eggs, chapatti, tuna fish, cheese, fresh fruits in summer, chocolate, cold drink.

Hot lunch: similar to dinner. 

Dinner: Rice, pasta (made in Italy), pizza, noodles, boiled or fried potatoes, chapatti, momos, vegetable salads, noodle soups, several kinds of soups (mushroom, tomato, asparagus, etc.), several kinds of vegetables (cauliflower, garbage, peas, spinach) in curries or in soups, fresh fruits in summer or caned fruits salad …
