Besides, the beach also offers activities such as parasailing, yachting and windsurfing for visitors to enjoy.
Fort Aguada, Goa- Presently serving as the Central Jail, Fort Aguada has witnessed many historical battles and moments some of which have had a direct impact on the fort itself. This is the largest and the best-preserved Portuguese bastion in Goa and was built in 1609-12, to control the entry into the river Mandovi and to protect Old Goa from potential enemy attacks. The Vagator Beach has something, which very few beaches can boast of - its beautiful silver sandy stretch has huge red cliffs overlooking it. These imposing stalwarts also ooze out two fresh bubbling springs just near the shore making for a spectacular sight.
Mapusa offers a wide range of sightseeing options ranging from lively bazaars to historical forts that are a visual delight. The Mapusa Bazaar is a vivid way of savouring the delights of a rural market and picking up authentic Goa ware. The whole town comes alive with the spirited call of vendors pedalling their goods, and with the colourful stacks of fresh fruit and spices piled up on the dusty pavements.
The Shri Bodgeshwar temple is situated near Mapusa at about 12 kms from Panaji. The temple is situated in a lush green environment and has a small shrine which is dedicated to Kanakeshwar Baba or Bodgeshwar, locally known as Bongini.
Bodgeshwar is regarded as 'Angavani' which refers to one to whom vows are made and who fulfills desires of the devotees.
