Amazing Darjeeling

On arrival at Darjeeling, rejoice a toy train ride (UNESCO World Heritage Site) to witness amazing tea plantations, beautiful valleys and the Mall road. Then, stroll around the Mall Road for local shopping in the evening. Later check-in at a hotel and stay overnight.

Early morning, wake up and leave for the spell bound view of sunrise at the Tiger hill and to enjoy the mesmerizing views of Kanchenjunga peak by sipping in the best tea that Darjeeling is famous for. Tiger hill also gives a beautiful view of the Himalyan Range. Later, while returning to the hotel, visit Ghoom Monastry, and then Batasia Loop from where one can rejoice a panormic view of Darjeeling. At the centre of the Batasia Loop, is a War Memorial built in the memory of the Gorkha Soldiers who lost their lives in the war after Independance. Return to the hotel for overnight stay Later, visit Ghoom Monastry- dedicated to Maitreya Buddha or 'The Future Buddha'. In this monastry one can also find the manuscripts of Buddhism that are preserved. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

After breakfast, proceed to visit Peace Pagoda that displays the four different avatars of Lord Buddha and it is a symbol of peace and prosperity in the world. In order to take breath taking views, do not miss to undertake a cable car ride. Then, visit Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park- the largest high altitude zoo in India famous for Snow Leopard, Red Panda and Himalayan Wolf. Later, visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (it is closed on Thursday), Tensing and Gumpo Rock- both these rocks are used in rock climbing training by HMI (Himalayan Mountaineering Institute). In the evening, visit Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center- a rehabilitation centre for the Tibetan Refugees (the centre is closed on Sunday). Later, visit Natural History Museum- that has exotic and diverse variety of Himalayan and Bengali flora and fauna (this museum is closed on Sunday).

After breakfast, proceed towards Mirik- the most attractive serene destination. Travel amidst beautiful valleys, amazing landscapes and mesmerizing sceneries. On arrival at Mirik, enjoy activities like canoeing, boating and horse riding. Walk past the tea gardens, cardamom groves, orange orchards and rejoice the thick and beautiful forests. Later in the evening, while returning Darjeeling, visit Pashupati market- famous for imported cosmetics and clothes from Thailand. Return hotel for overnight stay.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed towards Siliguri Railway Station or Airport for your onwards journey with memories of Your Festigo Journey.
