Day

Arrive Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport. On arrival you will be met by our representative and transferred to the hotel. Afternoon visit the Kamakhya Temple. Kamakhya devi temple is one of the 51 Shakti Pithas of India and an important pilgrimage destination especially for Tantric worshippers. Overnight at the hotel.  

 

Today morning after early breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee (165km/6hrs). On the way, stop at Umiam lake or Barapani lake and enjoy panoramic views of the misty hills and lake in between. After that drive to Shillong peak, one of the highest points in Shillong from where you get breathtaking views of the city below. Also visit the Elephant falls. Thereafter proceed to Cherrapunjee. On arrival check-in at the resort. Evening enjoy the cozy weather of Cherrapunjee. Overnight at the resort.

Cherrapunjee or Sohra is world renowned for being once the rainiest place on earth. It has many beautiful waterfalls and caves. Today after breakfast visit the Nohsngithiang Falls, Mawsmai caves and Nohkailikai Falls. Also see the valley of Bangladesh below. Overnight at the resort.

After breakfast drive 3 hours to Mawlynnong, one of the cleanest villages in Asia. This village borders Bangladesh and you can have a great view of the plains of Bangladesh from here. Trek to the living Root Bridge which is a real delight to see. Walk to the Bangladesh view point and explore the village and interact with the locals. Thereafter drive to Dawki (1 hour). Dawki is a border town on the Indian side of the Indo – Bangladesh border. Just near the Tamabil-Dawki check post flows the beautiful Dawki river or Umngot river with greenish-bluish water so clear that one can see the bottom of the river even from as high as the bridge over the river. Enjoy activities in Dawki like boating, canoeing(optional). Later drive to Krang Shuri Water falls in Jowai (1 hour). Overnight at the hotel in Jowai.

After breakfast sightseeing of Jowai visiting the Nartiang monoliths and the Durga temple nearby. Thereafter drive to Shillong (2 hours). On arrival check in at the hotel. Afternoon free at leisure for shopping and own activities Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast sightseeing of Shillong. Visit Wards Lake (Tuesday closed), known locally as Nan-Polok. It is an artificial lake with garden and boating facilities. Then visit the Shillong Cathedral, built by the first Catholic missionaries to these hills, the Salvatorians from Germany, this uniquely designed building is in perfect harmony with the hilly landscape. After that see the Don Bosco Museum (Sunday closed). A modern museum focusing on local indigenous people & culture. Afternoon visit the Lady Hydri Park. Overnight at the hotel. 

After breakfast drive to Guwahati (110 kms / 3 hours). On arrival check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit the Assam State Museum (Monday closed). Evening enjoy sunset cruise on the mighty River Brahmaputra (Weather permitting and subject to availability on direct payment basis). Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey with memories of Your Festigo Journey .
